The 2012 Volvo XC70 midsize crossover seats five across two rows of seats. It features the comfort and contains all the safety features that you would expect from a Volvo.

With each 2012 Volvo purchased, you receive the Safe+Secure Coverage plan; it features a five-year limited warranty, five-years of wear and tear coverage, five-years of scheduled maintenance, and a five-year roadside assistance program. There is an optional Technology Package that adds a litany of safety technology, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, collision warning and pedestrian detection with full auto brake, distance alert, and a lane departure warning system.

Standard with the front-wheel drive 3.2-trim is a 240-horsepower, 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder, while the all-wheel drive T6-trim gets a 300-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder. Both engines are coupled to a six speed automatic transmission and premium unleaded fuel is recommended. An optional 230-horsepower, 3.2-liter PZEV engine is available on the 3.2. Fuel economy ranges from 17-19 mpg in the city to 23-25 mpg on the highway.

A well designed interior with wood trim and leather wrapped steering wheel, shifter, and brake handle make this a comfortable, functional and elegant looking cabin. The Drivers’ bucket seat in front is power assisted with a three way memory setting for both the seat and mirrors. A number of features are standard in all trim levels including a tilt/telescopic steering column, Volvo Sensus with integrated color display, pollen filter, dual-zone automatic climate control, USB/auxiliary audio inputs, and Bluetooth® connectivity.

Safety comes first on the XC70. All models come standard with dynamic stability and traction control and utilize Volvo’s Intelligent Driver Information System. The XC70 lineup comes standard with dual-stage front airbags, an energy-absorbing frontal structure, head restraints on all seats, a new pedestrian protection system, and a whiplash protection system.
