New Scion Vehicles Overview
After a quiet 2010, Scion makes a big splash in 2011 with the all-new, micro-compact Scion iQ. The 2011 iQ will be one of the smallest cars in the US (120.1 inches from bumper to bumper) and will seat between three and four occupants. A 90-horsepower, 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine will produce estimated combined city/highway fuel ratings in the high 30s.
If you thought that the 2011 iQ was the only big change in the Scion lineup, then you haven’t seen the 2011 Scion tC. The affordable tC compact sports coupe is the most conventional vehicle in Scion’s fleet and receives a sleeker, stronger exterior to go along with a completely redesigned interior. A new, more powerful 2.5-liter engine is mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission that allows for manual-shift mode. As with all Scion models, the tC features a wealth of dealer-installed custom performance parts, including a supercharger that boosts horsepower to 200.
The Scion xD is a boxy, spacious compact hatchback based on the Toyota Yaris platform. The xD features a potent 4-cylinder engine, optional stability and traction control, and a new 160-watt Pioneer audio system. The xD is the most affordable vehicle in Scion's line-up and receives excellent fuel economy (26-27 mpg in the city and 32-33 mpg on the highway) as well as a few interior revisions for 2011.
The most recognizable Scion, the xB wagon, also receives front, rear, and interior updates for 2011. The small, SUV-like hatchback/wagon boasts a 158-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and impressive fuel economy. The xB receives the same audio options/upgrades as the xD as well as integrated USB/iPod inputs and a new tilt/telescoping steering wheel for 2011.
